Wheel of Anything.

Wheel of Anything

If you use a Wheel of Anything to think things through either for yourself or with a coachee, then please find attached a spreadsheet with different wheels drawn out for you.

I hope this is helpful!

Also known as the Wheel of Life, the Wheel of Anything can be used to help prioritise different work pressures.  It can be used to take a snapshot of what is going well and what is not going so well on different areas of responsibility within your current role or even different areas of your life.  It is a simple technique which is surprisingly effective.  The spreadsheet can be modified so that the scores can be input & the results printed out, but generally its better to print out the blank template and hand-draw on the results.  something about manually completing the wheel seems to bring the results closer to home!

Examples of different sections might be:

Leadership:

1.Setting Vision, 2. Managing Results, 3. Group Dynamics, 4. Individual Motivation

or

Management:

1. Direct Report A.  Clear what is expected of them?

2.Direct Report A.  Do I understand what they want from work?

3.Direct Report A.  Do they have the tools to do the Job?

1. Direct Report B.  Clear what is expected of them?

2.Direct Report B.  Do I understand what they want from work?

3.Direct Report B.  Do they have the tools to do the Job?

1. Direct Report C.  Clear what is expected of them?

2.Direct Report C.  Do I understand what they want from work?

3.Direct Report C.  Do they have the tools to do the Job?

1. Direct Report D.  Clear what is expected of them?

2.Direct Report D.  Do I understand what they want from work?

3.Direct Report D.  Do they have the tools to do the Job?

or

Whole Life: 1.Work, 2.Exercise, 3. Diet, 4. Home, 5. Social Life, 6. Family

Please let me know if you find this useful and feel free to email me back amendments of the spreadsheet if you think it can be improved (I’m sure it can!)

Enjoy!
